On a cross-Canada road trip in 2006, and after driving through snow from Calgary, we stopped at Canmore,Alberta, and next morning were greeted by this beautiful display of mountain tops lit by the rising sun, while the town was still in semi-darkness.This area is the eastern fringe of the Rocky Mountains and has spectacular scenery. More than enough to warrant staying an extra day, which we did.

Oh beautiful shot. I love the late light on the mountains and the beautiful sky. During one of our trips over there we needed to take the rental RV to the Ford dealer there and spent the morning hanging around Canmore – there is some beautiful scenery there.
Thanks Bev. Canmore and the area is really beautiful. We spent 2 days there and wanted to stay longer but we had been gone 3 months already and thought we should keep going and get back home eventually. But next time, there will be more time and more photos!
