A group of Canada Geese silhouetted against the colours of a sunset afterglow. September 2, 2007, Patricia Bay, Vancouver Island,British Columbia, Canada. A good place to see geese migrations in the spring and fall, though many of them just stop here and spend the winter. Also very handy because I live only a mile or so from there and it’s my favourite spot for quiet evenings.
Sony DSCF828 camera.

    Nice, George.
The exposure maintained the colours and the silhouetted birds look good. Just like I was there.

  • Jann and I just got there as a flock was honking their way in over the inlet.I managed to get a series of them doing their circles and bumps, and eventually settling down. They seem to wait until the sun actually goes out of sight before they calm down and the water colours change as the night comes on. Quite lovely.
