As it was when I took this picture, the view brings me a tear of emotion. To even try to comprehend the vastness of the prairie, to feel the steady winds, realize that the horizon goes on for thousands of miles, yet has so many aspects and hidden wonders to explore. The shot was taken one afternoon at the top of the hill at the Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump Interpretative Centre in southern Alberta,Canada.
I know it’s a strange name, but if you ever have the chance, visit it..you won’t be sorry.I’ll post some other shots eventually. Sony DSCF828, August 2007.

Excellent capture George, with such a great POV, you can see for miles from this vantage point. An interesting read as well…This would make an great HDR, with all that sky…inst fave my friend!!!
Thanks Larry..I think this was the first time I’d really been struck with “prairie fever”..lol..it was mesmerizing to stay there and just study the vastness, and I think the first time I’d really taken notice of the constant wind. Many thanks for the fav also!

Hi Barb, many thanks! Yep, you could see for a great many miles and miles and….!! I blew it up and counted the windmills on the horizon a long time ago, and forget what I found..think it was well over 100.
