Off the beaten track in Bear River, Nova Scotia, Canada, on a rainy, windy day in October 2005, we came across this little bridge and stream, with a few buildings enclosed by the full richness of autumn. A thriving community as far back as the late 1700’s, Bear River is now home to many artists and craftsmen, and most of the buildings date back 100 years or more. My Father shipped out of Bear River on a lumber schooner when he was 16, in 1924. Half of the village is in Annapolis County and half in Digby County. The river divides it and the bridge connects it.

If you please add the Canada word George, I will accept this one anyway, it’s beautiful, love those colors.

  • I’ve done it Vickie..I was starting to do the update of “10 tags” and meant to check the Canada word as I went along. Being old and declining in memory, I forgot..lol! Glad you liked the image anyway, it was back in 2005.
