Reflections of Winter, Rocky Mountains by

After driving through an early winter storm in Banff National Park,Alberta, Canada, the clouds lift enough to get this shot of trees dusted with snow, water just starting to freeze over, and beautiful reflections.
Banff is Canada’s first National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous the world over for it’s spectacular scenery. It runs in a north-west/south-east general direction along the major ridges of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
This photo was taken in late November, 2006.

Stunning Shot, love the reflection of the clouds in the water too ;o)

  • Thanks very much,it was a case of waiting for the break in the clouds to get good light on the high peaks and in the river valley at the same time. Almost gave it up, it was very cold :)

  • Hi Val..I’m gambling that’s your name:)..thanks for the kind words, and yes, it was a bit chilly! Having to drive through the mountains anyway, it was a stroke of good luck to get some nice shots along the way.
