Awesomce and congratulations, I LOVE the Valley of Fire, I would guess that is from a steel or mining smelter.?

Thanks very much, certainly appreciate your comments. The Valley of Fire was in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and the round objects are huge ladles on rail cars which carried the hot slag from the copper smelter. They drove the cars out to this valley and dumped the slag down the slope, which is what I caught in the photo. Sudbury and Coppercliff were adjacent towns that had very big copper and nickle mining and smelting operations at that time.

Your welcome and my Dad use to be a miner in the Bisbee Az copper mine. The smelter was neat to watch at night

Congratulations once again, George. Three stunning images, well deserving of their features! Well done.

Thanks Mike..the two mountain ones were posted last November, and the valley of fire one was quite a few months ago also. That’s one of the nice things about RB, you get a feature when you least expect it..always a nice surprise!
