"Castle In The Clouds" was featured in Happy Haven Photography…

Thanks very much to the hosts for featuring my favourite mountain! It’s an image that has a lot of meaning for me, not only because I think it’s a very beautiful mountain at any season, but it was also the first image I posted to RB. Congratulations also to the other artists who share the feature with me.

WOW George, this is an absolute cracker of a photo. Great piece of work my friend, perfectly lit with the clouds giving a slightly ominous look to it. The foreground fir trees are a great touch, too and help to convey the great depth in this scene. No wonder it was featured! Congrats many times over. Regards, Peter

Hi Peter, and many thanks! It was a stormy snowy day and I didn’t really think I’d get a good look at it, and after driving across the whole continent I wasn’t too keen on stopping and waiting. Then just as we came around a corner I got a glimpse of it through the snow and clouds, so we pulled over and I got out and huddled behind the car and watched for an opening..lol! Almost froze my fingers but it worked out OK, and the Sony did a perfect job with 5 images. I liked this one the best, though it was a bit of a tossup with one of the others. I’ve always loved that mountain, as it’s so majestic from any view or angle, and any season, but I think winter just adds to the majesty.

Thanks very much Stan, it’s almost up to 1,000 views now, and 6 features including one on the RB home page. I’m glad I stopped and got really cold..lol!
I think winter really adds to the remote beauty of it.

Many thanks Mike, the mountain posed, the camera did the work, and I got very cold. But it all came together quite well :)
