Early winter snowfall, Banff National Park

Driving in and out of snow squalls, every few miles another vista appeared that I couldn’t resist.The light snow on the trees made them stand out. Soon they would be totally covered in snow. Banff National Park is one of the oldest of the chain of Canadian National Parks and is famous world-wide. It is located along the ridge of the Canadian Rockies in the Province of Alberta.The picture was taken after driving west from the town of Canmore,Alberta,Canada. The Canmore area is the start of the main foothill region of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and we were on the last legs of a motor trip from the Pacific Coast (Victoria) to the Atlantic(Halifax) and back again, over a 3 month period. Taken about 9 A.M., November 11, 2006.
