Hello to everyone. I’m Canadian,born and raised in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. I’ve had a long career in radar,communications,and computers and finally retired at 74. Scion of a Grand Banks schooner captain and a merchant mariner,I have to be beside an ocean. I started using 35mm.color in 1950.Favourite camera over the years was an Exakta Varex F2.0 + various telephotos. Switched to digital around 1998. Favourite subjects are sailing ships, ocean liners, the sea,coastlines, forest,mountains..maybe just say “nature” and be done with it. With one son on Vancouver Island and another in Nova Scotia, I try to spend equal time on both coasts. Long commute, but if I drive there’s lots to see along the way. Mailing address is in British Columbia but home will always be the Atlantic Provinces. Some years past I wrote articles for a number of technical and semi-technical magazines, illustrating them with my own photos, including some reporting on conventions and so on. I love photographing the things that are dear to me. I hope some of you will get some enjoyment from my efforts. Constructive comments and suggestions are always welcome. I have created several categories or galleries, and will add to them as time permits. In this way, perhaps I can help direct you to images which you can relate to and enjoy.
