A mother and her children in Nullagine, Western Australia.
This a a mother and her children in Nullagine, Western Australia. On a work visit a few years ago we visited the health care clinic. I approached the mother and her children and kindly asked them if I could take their photograph. She obliged. Nullagine is very remote and what shines through in small communities is the family bonds. I have found in Indigenous communities parenting becomes a shared responsibility. There has been a lot of pre-election focus on child abuse in Indigenous communities and I believe although it is a problem, it is a minority who commit such horrible crimes.
