I’m temporally challenged so dawn shots are rare for me but a couple of times a year near to daylight saving change-overs the sun stops getting up at a silly hour and becomes rather more civilised. I was lucky enough to shoot this after a night of rain so the rock pool on top of the cliffs was full.

Shot off Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park, Sydney.

    Amazing colour !

…must try it myself one day :D

  • - everyone should see at least one dawn (but only one!! – what a silly time for such a spectacular event – when all the most receptive and sensitive souls are tucked under their doonas). Thanks Caroline.

Fantastic Geoff! The light and reflection in the rock pool is amazing.

  • Thanks Leigh – that particular pool is the definition of ephemeral – usually only lasts a day after the rain.

beautiful image…. I read somewhere recently that there are traces of lithium in the sun’s rays but they are only effective at dawn…. don’t really know if that’s true but I know I always feel excellent after getting up early to watch the sun come up…. lovely work

  • Thanks Juilee – don’t know about the lithium but it may as well be kryptonite and me a sleeping superman!

The blues are so strong and inviting and the way that the sun glistens and lights up the small mounds of earth rising through the water is fantastic.

  • Thanks heaps Stuart – so glad you like it.
