Tempestuous
Stormy seas smashing against the cliffs along the Coastal Walk in Royal National Park, just south of Sydney. These cliffs are about 50m high so that’s a pretty big wave.

Awesome!

Grain? What grain?... Made it larger and couldn’t see any! Great capture showing the force of nature. Tones and exposure are nice, good use of your filters and polariser!
Geoff Coleman... replied
Thanks Douzy – it is harder to see the grain in this little RB version – it seems to get a bit lost in the mist of the shot in small size.

I actually like some softness in shots on occasion…with this one, it brings on a dynamic atmosphere…That wave is huge…Great shutter speed, in fact perfect for this shot showing the power…Great capture Geoff.
Geoff Coleman... replied
Thanks for your considered comment Robert – very much appreciated.
Amanda Cole
brilliant shot and great grain throughout this shot. the cloud cover is nicely poised in the background and plenty of interest through whole shot!
Geoff Coleman... replied
Thanks Amanda for your thoughtful comment – I do appreciate an extended comment.
elisab

Geoff Coleman... replied
Thanks elisa – that’s the effect I was hoping for

Super dramatic image Geoff, can’t really tell whats going on grain wise on a computer screen, looks good to me.
Geoff Coleman... replied
Glad you like it Travis – yeah a bit hard to tell when the image is this small.

Wonderful image Geoff, love the softness in that awesome wave :)
Geoff Coleman... replied
Thank you – I like this shutter speed – it gives both softness and an interesting jagged edge to a breaking wave

stunning shot of the awesome power of nature
Mary Campbell
great capture, you can just feel the power of the surge in the picture.
Craig Watson
Captured the force of nature so well… the slow exposure has caught the “motion” of the spray perfectly… the graininess does absolutely nothing to the image in my opinion!
Craig Watson
... ps… the title is perfect!
