Night Blaze

Worth the click to Large – many more stars await you.

Fourth in the Sea Storm series shot off Bundeena Cliffs Royal National Park just south of Sydney. It was quite a sight watching the storm gather momentum under this brilliant starlit sky.

This shot is actually the third in the sequence and comes between this one

and this one

And indeed by clicking on the view larger you are greeted with a starry eyed surprise. Hundreds of tiny speckled stars shining brightly many millions of miles away yet coming together to form an intrigal part of this amazing shot.

The height of the sky shows the sheer expansiveness of this view and I really love how the stars shine so brightly an clearly against the jet black nights sky. All of this is impressive enough on its own without even commenting on the storm.

The storm is captured in its prime. The lighting piercing out at all angles lighting the clouds like a giant mushroom as the battle rages internally. The firey red hints to the left look almost calm in comparison which is unusual given the association with that colour.
