Hello to all,
I would like to invite you to my latest art exhibition. On the 27th of May 2007 Im heading off to Berlin and Paris to take part in and attend the opening of a collaborative exhibition with 4 other Melbourne artists in Berlin, Germany. After the exhibition I will be heading to Paris to do some creating and networking and should be back in Australia by August, that’s if I don’t get seduced by the “Parisian” way of life.

June 6th – 19th, 2007 Opening Reception: June 7th, 18:00 – 22:00

An exhibition of five artists living and working in Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia. Berlin Germany, GALLERY twenty-four, is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition “Melb 5” as part of its 2007 SALON: Berlin Project.

The artists have created works on canvas inspired by the diverse and physically vast nature of the Australian continent. Shifting their influences between the natural and man-made world this collective of Australian artists will offer a rare opportunity to view contemporary Australian painting outside its geographical isolation.

These works will demonstrate the unique and fresh aesthetic apparent in a society still emerging after a relatively short history. By contrast the European aesthetic is informed by centuries of social and cultural development.

This exhibition aims to raise awareness of painting from the southern hemisphere to a European audience. The predominantly abstract works utilize the language of colour and form to cross boundaries. Painting is reinforced as a medium with an ability to communicate on a universal level regardless of nationality.
