Damselfly and white Camellia japonica
All profits from the sale of this work will be donated to the victims of the Victorian Bush fires.
This is a vector illustration of a damselfly on a white Camellia japonica from my original drawing. I have just learnt that the descriptive word in this case japonica must be in lower case after the name of the plant, here “Camellia”.
An interesting piece of plant trivia.
Damselfly and white Camellia japonica belongs to the following groups:

Love this!! Plus, I keep meaning to tell you how much I love your signature chop!
genevievem replied
thanks so much Susan, I didn’t know my one was called a chop! I keep seeing different ones on the bubble, mine is after the Australian artist Margaret Preston who always signed her lino prints with a distinctive MP but not always in a box.

Beautiful work Genevieve- I love this b&w its really dramatic xxx
genevievem replied
Thanks so much Anita, I am working on a colour one but I thought it looked quite nice in black and white. There is this handy thing in photoshop called stroke, which puts a white (or any colour) outline around any selected thing. Handy for 2 tone work.
AnitaInverarity
Its lovely- cant wait to see what you do with the colour version too xxxxx
genevievem replied
Thanks again but I don’t think anyone can match your drawing ability in the ink black and white drawing department!
Anyone reading, please check out Anita’s gorgeous work!
AnitaInverarity
btw- that outline thing is really neat- makes it all come alive xxx
genevievem replied
Yes, I love that little tool, really handy, discovered it by fluke like most things in photoshop.
