As people we grow, become more intelligent and become independent. We are influenced by others but each of us perceives images, signs, colours and marks differently. This is my fascination, by creating images dealing with morality, sexuality, and religious connotations I explore the viewers’ intentions and let them perceive their own narrative. Creating marks that tell their own stories, and using figures and colours I let the viewer be the story teller, giving them a chance to make their own work of art with my images.
As an artist I have been classically trained in sculpture, drawing, painting and printmaking, and I use all of these techniques to create vibrant, expressive works of art. Experimentation with different mediums and techniques has allowed me to create my own unique imagery.
My current series of works deal with the perception of dreams and how we perceive symbols and imagery from our dreams and apply them to our daily lives. Using our daily stressors and ambitions and how the manifest into our subconscious and create dreams and sometimes nightmares. I create images expressing these thoughts and subconscious using my own experiences and the descriptions of others dreams. Dream interpretations have been a part of our human histories since we were able to conceive dreams from Hieroglyphics to modern day medical practices we have try to figure out why we dream, and the meaning behind them. I am interested in the images we create during our dreams and how they translate to reality
