Callanish Stones (or Calanais in Gaelic) on the West coast of Lewis in the Western Isles.
The stones are a bit of a mystery, a kind of circular formation that somehow also resembles a celtic cross when considered from above.
Theories as to the meaning and purpose of the stone structures are plenty. Many believe that they were used in rituals relating to the moon, stars and the position of the hills.
I think that the mystery surrounding their meaning make it all the more interesting! Definitely worth a visit!
