This is the money shot. I took this at an air show today as the B17G was taking off. I used 3 images to do Photomatix HDR processing. I love the detail that this image shows. Makes a nice poster for all you vets out there. Canon 50 D, f10, focal length 146mm, exposure 1/200, ISO 100. Taken at Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona, USA. Featured Here 624 views, 33 favs. 8-20-11.
This is great work, George. You’ve certainly got the best out of all those natural silver panels with your processing. Beautiful tribute to this beautiful bird.
For some reason, this has been my most favorite WWII Bomber of all. I went to the Pima Air Museum in Arizona, way back in 1982, and of all the belt buckles that they had on the display table, I picked out the B-17. I was later told, by a Berkley Science Institute Phsycic Reader, that I was a B-17 Shuttle pilot during the war. He told me that I was a female pilot and that I was shot down while returning to the States for another bomber to take back to the Hawiian Islands. I don’t know if I believed him or not, but I do know I have some connection to the B-17G, somehow. I had to add this image to my favorites pages as soon as I saw it. Congratulations on your features. Bob ;)
