Generations
Taken on the east coast of Malaysia an early morning in june, 2007. I like to call this photo ‘Generations’ as this is the little boys grandfather and they are doing something that has been passed on from generation to generation. The boys father was also there, but he was cleaning the boat when this was taken.

Beautiful picture. So sharp and clear.

Such emotion evoked for me – my grandfather, dad and brother were all farmers and this so makes me think of them. I love this! It speaks volumes and is very powerful! You were in the right place at the right time. In America we are losing the importance of family. Beautiful!

I’m so happy for your reaction, it means a lot to me to actually make someone feel something through photography.
This photo is very special to me, not only because i got up early in the morning to shoot it ;) but also because I got a chance to talk to these wonderful people for quite some time both before and after I took the picture. The boy was soooo proud to show the strange white man the big fish they caught in the net. I will always remember those moments, the harmony and peacefulness that I found here… Thank you so very much, Lynn, for your wonderful comment!
