Geek Chic

I've been copied. Should I take this as a compliment ?

The world’s most unoriginal ebay t-shirt seller.

They’ve used the same fonts, layout, everything. They haven’t quite got the kerning right on the ‘move along’ though.

I know there is no copyright for slogans (I did a google search before I made my version and only found a few vague blog references) but they could have at least thought of their own layout.

Annoying don’t you think ?

From the look of it… I would say that they have copied almost all the designs they are selling… complimentary… but theft in my eyes! .....grrrrrrrrrr!!!

    That sucks big time.
Maybe send them a cease and desist anyway and see what happens?!

hmmm – makes me wonder how you can protect these things. Sorry to see this happening but not surprised that it’s coming up on evil-bay.

mmmmm – yeah its bloody annoying when people copy you design but you know what – there is not a lot you can do about it. Ebay huh? what a joke…

Haha – Jumpy has the solution right there!

I think Jumpy may well be an evil mastermind masquerading as a cute pirate-cat.

Well, you could look at it another way. You both “stole” the line from George Lucas, so it is doubtful your lawyers could overcome this in a copyright battle…

    Funny shirt, BTW.

  • Geek Chic replied

Thanks JohnGo ! Parody and/or satire is not considered a breach of copyright, which I consider this slogan to be. Also, my lawyer is a teddy bear wearing a bow-tie and the only battle he’s going to win is a battle of cuteness !

What a low life! I don’t know what to say.
He copied my t-shirt too, but not very well.
We should hunt him down and ‘Whicker Man’ the b@stard.
