I like this journal stuff / go Vote for AUDIO CHAOS
Ok…so its my first competition, and I entered it casually, not knowing the full deal of these competitions i see once a month added to the bubble.
The title “music machines” grabbed me (and had some spare time at work!) so i got to work on things. Like all my T-shirt designs its the best way to vent my wildest creativity and my most enjoyable stuff. Because as a graphic designer as many of you will know, it can be a frustrating thing sometimes at work putting across your most creative stuff because of client restrictions or needs etc etc, a giant disco ball with a pair of high heels and spraypaint or a human with a goats head Isn’t really whats best for a solicitors business cards “Audio chaos” came out as what i saw when i read the title, a kick ass audio abomination tearing up cities with sum killer guitar riffs over the deep bassy roar of the alien machines in war or the worlds! (spielberg).
I Just wanted it to be bad ass, nothing subliminal or clever, just raw thought, no over thinking, and i think i got that.
This competition thing is almost as addictive as the bubble itself, having people praise and enjoy your work, for me, as a designer is just the coolest thing, especially for someone like myself that is often overly critical of my own work, no matter what! which cannot be helped!
But that being said i kinda want to win now! i would certainly be making the trip to london to check them out if they were to win, and with it…a sense of achievement! seeing as i only joined the bubble to create t-shirts i would wear, through LOABO (lack of a better option) little did i know i would stumble across sum of the most talented son of a guns on the planet. To name a few…diesel laws, zomboy (nicest kid on the bubble), naf4d and rubyred that boy is a dude i look up to. kick ass from start to finish! and far too many to mention! you know who you are! i will have told you!!
i feel like im rabling…....perhaps because i am!

I totally hear what you’re saying Greg (especially about those pesky solicitors! lol ;-)
These competitions are great for the community, I just think it brings out the best in people – the more the merrier I say (and some BIGGER prizes).
I’m very similar to you in the fact that I’m very critical of my own work – after I’ve completed something I always think it could have been done in a much better way… I never seem to get the time to sort it out though, ah well!...
