I am a Californian expat transported by marriage to Aberdeen, Scotland. I am a mostly self-taught painter, working mainly in acrylic and mixed media. I love colour and hence, my paintings tend to almost always have elements of bright colour to them. I also love texture and sparkle (girly, I know). My husband says I was a magpie in a previous life. I love (in random order): ’80s synth music, Arctic folklore, mosaics, neapolitan ice cream, my husband, family and friends, Victoriana, Dylan Moran & Bill Bailey, Agatha Christie, black forest cake, that type of weather where there are lots of black clouds but the sun is shining, and Prussian blue paint. Thank you for taking a look at my shop.

I have two paintings in this show, Cavern and a new version of my In the Walls painting. It is open until December 22nd. If you are in the area, do come by… lots of good stuff! :)

Unfortunately I didn’t get around to writing this till after the opening night Christmas party, but the show is still going on until 23rd December. I have put two works in, one is my ‘Seabed’ painting, the other is a painting I have yet to share on RB, called ‘Mermaid’, which I hope to have prints up of pretty soon. I was pleased with where they placed my work, as …
If you’re in the northeast of Scotland, then you probably already know about NEOS, the annual North East Open Studios art event where artists open their studios to the public. It is a fantastic opportunity to get to see a vast range of contemporary local art (opens PDF of online catalogue). When I first moved to Aberdeen, it was a goal of mine to one day exhibit during NEOS, and this year…
