Among the other things that Alex, my Alexandrine parrot, enjoyed doing was playing on his gym. Well it really wasn’t a gym as such but it had all the things he loved to play with. It was all natural timber and all the attachments were safe for him to p[lay with. He would spend hours on it. It was only after I had said “Go Play” that he was allowed to go and play on it, hence the caption.
He would run to the left along the top rail and would wait for a scratch. I had placed his playground beside my chair.
This was taken with a Canon EOS350D using the standard 18-55mm lens. The editing as poor as it is was done with PSP 12.

Thank You. It is a pity that I no longer have him. I had bought him a swing and whoever made it used copper wire to hold the beads on. He managed to chew through to the wire and he ingested some and it killed him.
The old Praise and Reward system worked well. The hardest part was keeping the command exactly the same every time. The same tone of voice with the same emphasis had to be consistant.
Great shot of the beautiful bird, lovely colours, detail and clarity, well captured
I appreciate what you have said Phil, he really was a wonderful companion and friend. If you think Alex looked nice wait till you see “Eccles”. This is what he will look like when he is grown up, The male is the green one.
love the light and posture you captured ~ so you are a real lover of birds :) lucky you!! xx
Birds are fascinating, they are so intelligent and they all have their own personalities. They love to be loved and it is very easy to bond with them. Thanks for your comment.
