My work deals with concepts of omni-present technologies, systems of mass control, disconnection from our roots and evolution into a big brother apocalyptic future.
We are becoming more dependent on technology and systems for work, recreation and pleasure to the point of using hundreds of machines, systems and electronic contraptions everyday, recognizing them as usual we are desensitized even further into an alien world of ubiquitous technologies and new systems to silently control the masses. The average individual has numerous micro-chips on board, cell phone, ipod, pace maker etc… We are using technology as an extra appendage? This is the age of controlling super computers and media bombardment, technological advancements are approaching more rapidly every day, and in the scramble to keep up our brains are having to evolve quicker becoming more computer processor like to learn the latest systems and processes.
We have entered an experiment that has yet to reach a conclusion; the evolution of man now has different rules. Now its not survival of the fittest, we have fashioned a type of nanny structure to feed and nurture our race. What will happen if the unfit, unintelligent and unhealthy are constantly introduced into the gene pool? We are being mutated, distorted and altered by our new world becoming a hybrid-drone relying even more so on the omnipresent systems of control that are in place.
My work functions as a point where ideologies, anticipation, isolation and fear can be collaborated simultaneously into an observation of us and our potential as we continue this experiment within our test tube world.
