At The Going Down Of The Sun by

They went with songs to the battle, they were young
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with they’re faces to the foe.

They shall not grow old,as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor they years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

This is the Ode of Remembrance which is recited at the dawn services here on ANZAC day which is tomorrow 25th of April and is also recited at memorial services held on days commemorating the first world war around the world.
And is also to honor the many thousands of service men and women serving from the allied forces around they world
