Artist's Description

This is my 2008 Christmas Card. I have been doing Christmas cards since 1995.

This year’s card shows an image of Barak Obama with the weight of the world on his shoulders as the global financial meltdown takes hold. With Obama comes a degree of optimism and his words ‘We can do it’ signal a new era in which people work collectively to solve univeral problems. There is a confidence and resolve in his manner.

The failed Bush regime is on the way out. George Bush is a simple Good Old Boy who will sulk back to his cowboy ranch in Texas.

Kevin Rudd, Australian prime minister is strutting the world stage and sees himself as a player. Meanwhile China ( President Hu Jintoa) and India (Prime Minister Manmohan Singh) wait as the emerging world powers.

Hillary Clinton as the potential US Secretary of State is also waiting in the wings to make her mark.
