“What the bloody hell am I gonna do now?” I thought when I stepped off the train at Circular Quay last Monday. The weather in Sydney was dreadful, which put paid to any ambitions I had about getting some good pics of my old home town. But, as it turned out, I decided to make the best of a bad situation and a lot of the pics turned out to be “interesting” if not picture postcard perfect. Fuji Finepix S7000. You can check out some of the other pics here
You have done pretty good considering the weather Gary another excellent composition and I like how you got the wave of water around the ferry.
Thanks, Terry. I leaned over the railing and yelled out to the ferry captain, “Hey! Hang on a minute! I haven’t got the camera ready yet! I just got off the train!” He must’ve heard me. Hehe. I’m sure you don’t believe a word of that, Terry.
Some top shots in that Gallery too . The weather doesn`t have to be perfect to get some good shots.
I agree, Terry, and I learned another lesson in how to make the best of a bad situation. Just because it ain’t what you expected doesn’t mean it ain’t no good. How’s my English grammar going?
Often what we hope for (especially photographically for me) turns out very differently to what we get and these images have been an excellent example of a photographer changing his techniques to suit the situation. I love all of the images you’ve managed to get from Sydney Gary.
That’s very kind of you, William. Do you accept direct banking?
I wish I had know you were down here and we could have met up for some photos! You did pretty good considering the weather!
Thanks, Malcolm… very much appreciated, especially coming from you. I guess it’s a good lesson in how to take advantage of whatever happens to come your way. Think positive, as they say.

Definitely many interesting shots from unique angles !
That’s the key, isn’t it, Trish… finding something a bit different… and another reason why photography is such an enjoyable hobby.
