Summer Colors II by Gary Kelly

Summer Colors II by

I went back to the park later when the sun was in a better position for a shot looking the other way. Aren’t they pretty? They probably won’t last long so I’m glad I spotted them this morning. Pity the fountain wasn’t operating though. In fact, I can’t remember when the fountain WAS operating! Manning Council is a stingy bunch of misers. Sony Cybershot F717. Taree NSW Oz.

Before I took the shot, I was at the bottle shop getting a few chateau cardboards. The lady serving called me “sweetie”. So I turned to the old bloke standing next to me and said, “She called me Sweetie. What did she call you?” And quick as a flash, before the bloke could respond, the woman said, “Shithead.” Hehe. Cracked me up completely.

About Gary Kelly

I’m a hobby photographer. In fact, I’m not sure Red Bubble should refer to me as an “artist”. But I do like to take photos that are above average, and certainly appreciate learning from my fellow Bubbleonian’s efforts as well as their comments. I use a second hand Sony Cybershot F717 and a Fuji Finepix S7000… oldies but goodies. Photography allows me to keep souveniers of my experiences. Today’s deeds become tomorrow’s memories.

It is a beautiful flowerbed Gary and you have captured it well from this angle ! Petunias usually last quite a while, continually producing more flowers, but they sometimes end up looking a bit straggly.
Of course you would be called “Sweetie” … that’s your middle name isn’t it?
All Councils seem to be the same … plenty of money for overseas “fact finding” junkets and never enough to do things properly at home ………

  • Ah, petunias! Yes, I know how it feels to end up looking a bit straggly, Trish. Hehe.

`Sweetie` !! You must be a real charmer Gary. Top shot mate , doesn`t a garden make a difference to a streetscape. These should last all summer and you should send the council an email and tell them to fix the fountain.

  • Thanks, Terry. Yes, the fountain would have been a bonus but you’re right about how a garden can make a big difference to a streetscape – huge difference, actually. I’m sure many a passerby has stopped to admire that show.
