That was an invitation I simply couldn’t refuse. It was part of the Centenary of Rail in The Manning (Greater Taree) celebrations, with two locos on “close up and personal” display today at the Model Railway Club. After seeing my pic of dress horses posted yesterday, Terry Everson asked if I’d taken pics of any trains. Hello? Is the Pope an Argentinian? Trains? I’ve taken heaps! Over the next few days, I’ll edit the video footage, and organize the stills into an album for my web site. I’ll post the link when I post the next train pic on RB. Stay tooned! Oh yeah… that bloke who invited me aboard gave a really interesting commentary about how the steam engine works… and it’s all on video with sound. Fuji S7000.

I’m a hobby photographer. In fact, I’m not sure Red Bubble should refer to me as an “artist”. But I do like to take photos that are above average, and certainly appreciate learning from my fellow Bubbleonian’s efforts as well as their comments. I use a second hand Sony Cybershot F717 (recently replaced by a new Nikon D3100) and a Fuji Finepix S7000. Photography allows me to keep souvenirs of my experiences. Today’s deeds become tomorrow’s memories.

Great shot mate, is he saying G`day or get lost??

  • I saw him in the viewfinder and thought he was waving at the camera. I didn’t realize he was inviting me aboard at first… but I was chuffed to accept his offer. Got some great video as well, and a commentary from him. I’ll work on editing the video this week but for now I’ve put a photo album on my site which you can see here
