These boat are moored on the land side of the Fleet and people use them row across to the long beach (13 mile spit – Chesil beach).

Thanks Debs, It is a lovely calm estuary between the land and chesil beach. There is, however, a very strong current when the tide changes (but only in the centre) and a number of people have drowned over the years. Sandie was asleep having worked a night, so it was me, the dog and my camera. It is funny that you should mention a ride in the boats. My mum used to take us for picnic to the little beach here. It is shallow enough to paddle out and sit in the boat – ah memories! Sandie sends her love.
