Snowy Springtide by

This little fishing boat, abandoned on the beach close to my home in Eastbourne, is probably where my rekindled interest in photography started just over 12 months ago. I had bought an entry level DSLR, a Canon 1000D and was out snapping a few shots on auto to make use of the camera. I came across Springtide a took a shot. This became my first submission to Red Bubble and I was really encouraged by the comments I received i took some more pictures. A month or two later the 1000D had been replaced with a 50D and now I’m hooked.

This was a winter return to my favourite but sad little fishing boat, still sitting on the beach at Eastbourne. She looked even more forlorn in the snow.

This image shot on 9 January 2010 during one of the several spells of snow we ‘enjoyed’ here on the Sussex Coast.

This little boat looks so lonely! Wonderful moody image, I love abandoned boats and ship wreaks, this is neat! Dee

  • Thanks Dee, yes she is a rather lonely little craft. Maybe someone will do her up and sail her sometime.

It does look a bit sad and rundown
I little bit like the town it hails from

  • Cheers Mike, I would agree, it’s the loss of the cross channel business which I think has had a major impact on the town.
