The female Snowy has just landed on this branch and its weight and impact have caused the branch to now spring back into position. The Owlo is using its wing position to help counter that energy and keep it’s balance.
An owl I visited many times several years ago not far from my home ( 10-15 min drive). Unfortunately they have not wintered nearby these past few years…could be cyclical, availibility of food or urban sprawl etc….

great capture Gary – lucky you to have seen and photographed him!
Thanks Betty and yes it was a great Winter with this bird just a 15 minute drive from my front door…I spent a lot of time with her that I won’t forget.
