There appeared to be a strong bond between many of the Kits when I was watching them.

Your images melt me. This is undoubtedly wonderful.
The last two times I returned to see the foxes here, only the vixen was there and her behavior was troubling to me. I really feared something happened to the kits. While I am not anxious to return to verify that, in the interim, your images remind me of why I value spending time among them. You have caught some very endearing moments and more than capably shown the familial dynamics.
This image should be the poster shot for anti-fox hunting. :)
Thanks so much Lee-Anne
I was worried about the kits you had photographed when you stopped posting them. There could be many reasons for not seeing them but you have good reason to be concerned. Fox kits are so vulnerable and are at great risk from predators and people. Hopefully they are OK but you won’t know if you don’t check…There must be others who are concerned so perhaps you could enlist some help to investifate the situation. I know I was concerned with the ones I photographed at the end of April…A couple of days later only 4 were seen then only 1 then none. A few weeks ago 4 or 5 were seen so that was encouraging. The grass there is so high now that its very hard to see.anything. When I was watching them I noticed that a few would wander off alone into the woods, exploring …Very dangeous for them when there are coyotes, dogs, fishers.and the mother is nowhere in sight.
I can somewhat empathize with farmers (raising poultry) hunting foxes if foxes are taking their animals although in most other cases foxes are a great animal to control rodents of all kinds in farmers’ fields. I know in Britain they banned fox hunting with hounds and horses because of the cruelty involved while still alowing other forms of hunting. regardless, the hunts continue with some charges being applied by the police but it now being argued as one of those " non enforcable" laws .It will in the end take an enlightened populace to stop “the sport”
Gary, your photos of these Kits are simply excellent, they are precious beyond words, would you please enter this into, Baby Animals (No Kittens or Puppies, 3/day, people would love this…Laura
