Artist's Description

Flaming orange is one of the color descriptions that the Sibley Field Guide To Birds uses when describing this 5 inch warbler. This male in breeding colors was photographed this morning ( May 26) in the Gatineau Hills in Quebec Canada. This bird is a migrant as are all warblers and it winters in southern Central America and South America. They tend to stay high in the trees and like mature coniferous trees.

Canon 50D and 500F4 with 1.4X TC and Canon 580EX flash. Manfrotto CF Tripod and Wimberly II head used as well. ISO 400 1/320 sec at F5.6 and flash was set at -1 output.

Featured in Bird Photography( DSLR) and The Birds, as well as Wild Nature Photography and Writing and the Live and Let Live Group.
