Type 464 (Provisioning) Lancaster bomber of 617 Squadron ED906/G AJ-J for Johnny, whose Barnes Wallis-designed Upkeep ‘bouncing bomb’ finally smashed the Mohne Dam on 17 May 1943. Re;lease parameters: 232mph, at 60ft as gauged by the offset spotlights, 450 yards from target. Codename for weapon released was “Goner”.
