Bon Chic, Bon Genre
Acrylic and Watercolor, digitally enhanced
Lessons learned on this one… I was working mostly with acrylics up to this point, but sometimes frustrated in getting the minute detail I wanted… The basic background areas are acrylic on this portrait, but then for the facial features I switched to watercolors and was very pleased with the subtle detail I could achieve… Going to stay focused on watercolors for awhile now…

This is a beautiful portrait Gary. Love her expression, her eyes are fabulous. i do the same, mixed media, if something doesn’t quite work out in one, i try something else. i’m hoping to tackle an acrylic painting soon, will be my first in a long while

Lovely portriat.

Beautiful portrait! I love the colours, and the mix of mediums works really well. She looks like the French actress Mireille d’Arc, is that on purpose? (btw the expression is “Bon Chic, Bon Genre”...).

Thanks for the compliment, Douzy… it was a classy lady in a magazine ad… but with that special French je ne sais quoi elegance… oops… I’ll correct the spelling on my description… merci…
