Thanks, Pinky… interesting you should mention the background… it was taken in a textile factory in France where they’ve preserved the art of weaving (on giant looms) the old wall hangings called “entre fenetres” - between the windows - especially in old chateaux… that’s a loom in the b.g. with a work in progress…
Lovely – looks like a painting almost, especially the background. I can see elements of Vermeer and Bouguereau in this – color and composition. Superb!
Many thanks, Lianne… that’s pretty elite company… a lady who knows her classics… Vermeer is one of my absolute favorites… would love to see his rendering of this scene… those lush blues of his with radiant light…
Very much a fan of nudes, and hints of eroticism, but this photo is so pure, her expression and your capture saying this is who I am in so many ways, pure and simple stripped of all embellishment, Naked and natural, A beautiful sight to behold.
Gary, you know you could redo this in Photoshop the way you describe above?? It’s not too difficult, and I’ve done it to the 7th photo in the “Gallery: The Female Form” on my web site. The photo was taken in broad daylight in the model’s home, and reworked using a technique to emulate classic studio lighting. If you want, I’ll refer you on to it …
Thanks for the Photoshop tip, Casey… I don’t have that software at the moment, but would like to play with it and give this image a classic touch should I get it… And regarding French women… always had a thing for Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot… Zut alors! Magnifique!
Thank you for your insightful comment, Darkofnight… You’ve brought me back to reflecting on this image more deeply and raising my awareness about all the things you expressed… it does have a nice soft purity to it… in the eyes… in the face… even in the trust expressed by her relaxed stance… sometimes it takes a fresh and sensitive eye to see the beauty in things we create…
Thanks for your kind words, mklau… everytime I look at this image it seems to add another dimension to what’s there… elegance and calm in the expression… the appeal of the rich blues… just the beauty of a woman’s face and body… a lot of the pleasures of creativity that you expressed in your profile…

Lovely portrait. She looks like a friend of mine. Love the head covering. The background is wonderful with the fabulous colors
