Wrecked wreck
This week has been very busy for me so I had to get out and do some “therapy”. When I arrived at Dicky Beach I got a big surprise. First, every beach access I tried was closed with a fence due to massive beach erosion. After the 4th attempt I found an access point to get down to the beach and walk towards the wreck. But wait….were there there was another surprise, the wreck has been wrecked by the recent wild weather. One of my preferred sections of the wreck has been knocked over by wild seas. How sad to see this…it has lost a lot of it’s magic for me.

Reminds me of our “famous” tree at Dog Rocks when it lost its crown during a heavy storm, lost its magic too.
This is a very fine image with all elements coming together perfectly, love it in mono.

A magnficant piece. So very well thought out for composition and perspective. The choice of b/w add much to the contrast and detail. Well done.

Dramatic image Garry! Ominous clouds hovering overhead, watching to see your reaction to what mother nature had already dispensed, and wrecked your wreck… This is great in both BW and colour! You can also see the sandcliffs behind, GC also copped that, as you would already know!

Awesome image.

amazing image, but is that part of the bitter joy of returning to the same place, to capture the changes, be it the light, the clouds or the subject, the magic is still there, because this is an amazing capture and a powerful b/w image

Looks a wonderful subject. Even though it seems to have lost something for you, it still looks special to me through your image. Excellent B&W and superbly framed
