We launched leggings! Step into a world of individuality.

A pure watercolour painting inspired by a fabulous day in April, spent at the National Trust’s Knightshayes Court in Devon. The Magnolias were spectacular and at our feet were carpets of Scillas.
Lots of texture in this one (maybe too much!). Painted with W & N artists quality watercolours on Langton NOT watercolour paper (and of course a sprinkling of salt). It’s a bit moodier than my usual style, but it’s one of those paintings which knew which way it wanted to go, so I just followed!

Challenge winner:

Nature is my passion and inspiration for my art. I started out by photographing it, but now I love to paint it as well.
I have been painting with watercolour for many years now, and I am still amazed and continually excited by this most magical of mediums. I’m still on my journey of discovery; a journey which I hope will never end. Every time I pick up my paintbrush I wonder where the paint will lead me.
Another magical medium, which I am enthralled by, is encaustics.

    It’s really beautiful Jackie…

  • Thank you so much Janis for your lovely feedback – it’s greatly appreciated, as I did wonder whether this one was a little “messy” and brooding. Thanks for your encouragement!

No it’s certainly not messy and as for brooding, to me it looks like how it feels to emerge from winter to spring..

  • Thanks Janis!
