Dwarfed at the Temple of Karnak by

My daughter and I at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor, Egypt. The immense columns were incised with pictorial hieroglyphics, some of which still retain remnants of colorful paint of thousands of years ago.

Besides photographing things I find beautiful, I love to paint in watercolor! It can be loads of fun, creating its own beautiful color combinations as they run together on the paper, or it can be surprisingly independent, doing “its own thing” where you pretty much have to give up control – one never knows! That’s all just part of the fun!

    What a set of columns.

  • Yes, Fred, they are HUGE! They seem to take up more room than might have been left for people to stand in. Thanks for stopping by!

Magnificent shot! POV, perspective, not to mention that vanishing point! Well done, Pat. Must’ve been a great trip!!

  • Indeed it was, Sheila! And I’ve never run so fast in my life, once I set the timer! lol Actually my son shot this one to save me the effort! This was taken two years ago, and I’m back in Egypt as I write, visiting his family and a brand new granddaughter. Love the sun!
