Oh, Pat, a perfect example of cottage style. This is just wonderful and I recall seeing this gallery when I was down in Carmel. This is simply wonderful.

wow I love it, your right its definitely storybook.
Pat Yager replied
Actually the whole one-square-mile town is storybook! There is much sandstone there, so many homes and walls are made of this colorful rock, and lots of them have lovely roofs that curl down over the eaves. I can see the seven dwarfs easily fitting in there! I’m glad you like it! – Pat
saseoche
Beautiful house excellent capture love it!
Pat Yager replied
I believe this might actually be an art gallery – at any rate, it’s scrumptious, isn’t it?! Thanks for stopping by, my friend! – Pat
Brian Towers
Looks very English Pat. Does Clint still live around there?
Pat Yager replied
I’ve heard he does, Brian! I think Carmel has a lot of “that English charm,” but it also has a personality all its own. Hmmm, reminds me of someone I know! A lovely spot to visit!
chazz
Great Shot!!! Looks so homey.
Pat Yager replied
Thanks, Chazz, it does, doesn’t it?! But I hear that yearly property taxes are 10% of the value of the homes there and those run in the millions! Nice to look at, though!
Béla Török
Lovely capture, Pat!
Pat Yager replied
I’m glad you like it, Bela! Thank you! – Pat
SharonD
Lovely looking house Pat.
Pat Yager replied
Thanks, Sharon! I really like the roof, with its varied placing of the shingles.

Oh, this is so pretty. I really loved Carmel when we visited there in 1984! I don’t enjoy big cities full of tall buildings with little open space. So when my husband decided to rent a car to visit Carmel and Monterey I was all for it. SanFran was too stuffy for me. But Carmel was refreshing, no tall buildings and very pretty flowers and vines and open, airy stores and nice walking areas and beautiful views. Great shot of this pretty scene.
Pat Yager replied
Carmel is a tiny town that still looks just like it did in 1984 – a city ordnance keeps it that way. It’s nice to know this picture brought back pleasant memories for you! – Pat
Catherine Veal
this is really beautiful Pat.x
Pat Yager replied
If you ever get to the States, Catherine, this place should be on your “must see” list! You’d love it! Thanks for the lovely words! – Pat
Shaun Whiteman
Great shot Pat, wonderful building. Your work does not seem to be appearing in my stream….frustrating!!! Keep up the good work my friend.
Pat Yager replied
I’m glad you like this, Shaun! Yes, a number of us are realizing each others’ work is not making it to our Watchlists. I wrote to RB this morning about it. It might help if others would do the same, so they would realize it’s not an isolated thing. Thanks for letting me know, my friend! – Pat
jacqi
Oh this is lovely and brings back memories for me too!
Pat Yager replied
That makes me happy, Jacqi! Thanks for stopping by! – Pat
IngerMargrete

Holly Cawfield
So pretty Pat!! The lines, curves and textures of the roof, the warm interior lights, the ivy and the beautiful pinks of the flowers…..such a lovely scene!!
Pat Yager replied
You know, Holly, with your great eye for composition and color, you would be SO inspired by visiting Carmel! And there are literally dozens of art galleries within just a few short blocks of each other – you’d LOVE it! I do appreciate your kind comments, my friend! – Pat

Keithbotilier
Wonderful, just like a cottage very cosy.
Pat Yager replied
Many of the homes, Keith, are made from the gold sandstone there, similar in color to those of the Cotswolds, but the houses in Carmel are much smaller and of varying designs. A most interesting place architecturally. Thank you for stopping by! – Pat
rodsfotos
It looks a beautiful cottage styled home Pat and you captured it’s old world character well in this beautiful composition, nice to see the colourful cottage garden in the foreground as well, beautifully captured,
