Casa Blanca Lilies
Almost the last lilies to bloom in our garden each summer, the Casa Blancas put on a performance well worth waiting for! They are tall, lavish in their profusion, and exude a fragrance that rivals the finest perfume. They are high on my list of “keepers”!
Watercolor painted on Arches 140 cold press, 21”x 14-1/2”

Brian Towers
I’ve just thought Pat, you are getting so many complimentary comments, and so well desereved, that you must be spending much of your painting time to answering them all. Obviously not as your are still producing those wonderful works.
Pat Yager replied
Hello dear Brian! It does take time to reply to people’s nice comments, but if they have taken the time to stop and write them, I feel I want to tell them how much I appreciate their doing so. And, their kindness gives me energy and inspiration to pick up a new sheet of paper and begin again. I can truly say I’ve never received so much affirmation on my work as I have here on Redbubble! I am so very grateful for all the new friends I’ve made here – I love each one! And thank you once again for all of your very kind comments, my friend! You are HUGELY encouraging to me! – Pat
Brian Towers
I entirely agree in that it’s only good form to acknowledge kind comments. In any case it encourages more to follow. The code of RB is to be kind to each other, but then don’t most artists have nice friendly natures anyway.
I have been slapping my own wrist for making so many typing mistakes in these pages recently – maybe the font is too small and I’m usually hitting the keyboard while lounging. Taking my gloves off might help.
Pat Yager replied
Hmmmm, “hitting the keyboard” while lounging – or lunging? Either way could result in some interesting words! But it’s the sentiment that counts, right?! I bet you could come up with a great cartoon on the subject, Brian, and you were looking for a new art project anyway, weren’t you?!
TomBaumker
Very beautiful work. Should look well on someones wall it is so colorful. My dear no one is perfect don`t wory about the typingggg ha ! Hugs Tom

You do lovely work Pat, like you I started in Oils and tried watercolors later. It takes a while to relearn as everything you do is backwards.. I never got as good as you at it though. Your work speaks for itself, congradulations on the featured interview. Interesting.
Pat Yager replied
I know what you mean, Mary, having to go from front to back, so to speak, in changing from oils to WC. I think oils are much easier in that they can be painted over numerous times to correct an area if needed. But the simplicity of watercolors is a big plus – if you’ve only got even fifteen minutes or so, you can quickly pick up a brush and go to work. Setting up for oil painting, unless you have a dedicated studio, can take quite a bit longer, as you might know. But I do hope you will keep up your watercolor work – it is so satisfying in spite of the many challenges. And thank you for your very kind comments, my friend! I do appreciate them! – Pat
Kate Eller
This is one of my very favorite watercolors on RB. You are quite accomplished Pat. Congratulations on your feature….and I very much enjoyed reading your interview. It’s so interesting to hear how other artists create their works, the supplies they use, and how they initially got into painting. I gleaned some tips concerning watercolor painting from you Pat!
Pat Yager replied
What a nice thing to say, Jane! Especially after I just now “crashed and burned” on a watercolor I was doing. Well, that’s how we learn, right?! :D I’m so pleased if you learned a few tips from the interview. How long have you been painting? I’m sure I could learn some new things from you, too! Thanks again for your sweet comments – I genuinely appreciate them! – Pat
Kate Eller
Oh, I have been drawing most of my life from about eight or nine years old. Just had long dry periods here and there when I did not pursue it as much. That’s one of my greatest regrets. I can’t imagine you crashing and burning….hope it can be salvaged. If anyone can do it..you can. I really admire your work Pat.
Pat Yager replied
Hi, Jane—I may give it a second go, but sometimes “rejects” can drag us down. The jury’s still out on this one. I’ll wait ‘til later tonight to see if I can revive it. But I thank you for your word of confidence, my friend! – Pat

Like how painted light & shadows!!!!!!!!
Pat Yager replied
Hello, Svetlana! Thank you for your lovely comment on this painting! Sometimes it is hard to paint white and make it look real, but always there are shadows and different amounts of light so we can paint more colors into the whites. Thank you for looking at it! – Pat

You are an inspiration, and you’re very welcome Pat!!!
Lenora Brown
I saw this piece in one of the challenges and saw something that I wondered if you saw. There is a man’s facw in the flowers. Do you see it?
I love it when that happens, whether it is deliberate or not. Mimi Yoon has that in one of her painting as well. She saw it much later on.
It is a very interesting depiction and a good entry.
Pat Yager replied
Thank you, Lenora. I tried hard and I think I found what you might have been referring to. It is interesting how “after the fact” we can find things in a painting that resemble something else. I appreciate your stopping by!
Dar Hurt
