Flowing Clematis
Clematis are such GREAT climbing flowers! They bring us such a huge array of colors each spring, from white to pink to blue to magenta and purple – and love to climb trellises, trees, and buildings, wherever their little “curls” can get a good hold..

This is very pretty…Wonderful…I tried to grow them here in Southern California and they died. I got a piece of plant from a friend in Idaho where they grow beautifully. I will try again.
Pat Yager replied
I’m so glad you like this one, Donna! Thank you! One thing I’ve learned about clematis is that they love to have their roots cool, so they often do well with a short, full plant immediately in front of them to shade the bottom foot or so. I do hope you will try them again! – Pat

Always, always I’ve hoped to have a horse, but that hasn’t been possible. BUT, dogs, yes! We only have two at the moment (one you can see in my pic “The Queen on Her Throne”), but have had more in the past. Precious friends they are to us! I’m glad we share that love! – Pat

A very beautiful floral watercolour artwork Pat, love the rich colours of the clematis and the way they strive to flow away from the vase as if they were reaching out for new space, beautifully painted and presented, your love and understanding of flowers shows so clearly in your beautiful artwork,
Regards, Rod.
Pat Yager replied
Thank you so much, Rod, for your very kind reflection on this painting! I am glad it brings you pleasure, as that is why I paint. It is my intention as I paint, that each person seeing it will have a tiny bit more of appreciation for our God who has created the flowers in the first place. I am always grateful for your gracious words, Rod! – Pat

I love this watercolor, too! You have a remarkable ability to use just the right amount of paint (I think, but know little about how you do this). From the darker hues to the lighter strokes of the vase just fill me with a joyful feeling. Beautiful work!
Pat Yager replied
Hi, Jan! It makes me so happy to know of the joy you feel as you look at this painting! That is exactly why I paint, truly! I always ask the Lord to guide my hand, the amount of paint and the color to use, and to bring joy to those who will look at it. You’ve filled my heart with joy just by commenting as you have on it! Thank you! Pat xxx
