Thank you, Kala! There’s a story behind those colors—The first color I used was a vivid bright orange around the centers of the blooms. It looked absolutely garish! I thought it was ruined! But I had spent so much time drawing it that I thought, “So even if I’ve ruined it, I’ll still continue painting it, just to practice.” Then, as I added other colors, the brilliant orange became more subdued in their presence, and to my amazement, all the colors, working together, made the painting “work”. Kind of like a sports team!

And thank you so much for what you are doing on behalf of those precious children! My husband and I often work with the disabled children in Nicaragua, in fact, he’s there right now. The poverty there is overwhelming! But we try to realize that by helping one family at a time, much work can be accomplished, and many lives changed.

The fact that this one turned out at all is kind of surprising, Brian. I’ve recounted its story above to Kalaryder, should you care to read it. And to top it all off, when I showed it to my daughter, she said, “Mom. . . . I think you’ve painted it upside down.” I turned it around – and yep, she was right, I’d painted it upside down during the whole process! (Must say something about my mind!)
