Artist's Description

The Black King’s Rook
Artist: Simon Sherry
Biography: Danny

The Black King and his Bullrock

The Bullrock, or King’s Rook, are massive creatures created by the Shaman to carry supplies and extra weapons for the Army of the Black Spear.

Strong but limited in movement due to their sheer size, they are the product of a long extinct race of Pachyderm that was gene-spliced with the last single survivor of the Giant race dwelling in the Dark Cathedrals of the Shaman’s Apothecary.

Only ever used for battle, Bullrocks are treated with special care during times of non-war. (Peace isn’t a word in the Black Spear dictionary) The King is often seen in their company feeding and grooming them exclusively. In fact, so special are these creatures in the eyes of their master, he commanded the Shaman to create creatures specifically engineered to tend to their pens. In turn, the King’s Shaman has found more than one way of repurposing the byproducts of such a massive lifeform.
