The Garden of Reflection is a memorial to remember and honor our loved ones and all 2,973 killed on September 11, 2001. It is situated in Memorial Park amid the natural beauty of Historical Bucks County farmland in Lower Makefield Township. Symbolizing After Darkness, there is Light. This Memorial Journey leads from sorrowful reminders of tragedy and grief towards luminous symbols of Hope, Peace and Celebration of Life. The memorial is a spiral path that starts in a tear drop entrance to the park. Their is the Tribute Flag. The Flag was flown over all three 9-11 sites and the memorial before being dedicated to the memorial. A steele monument made from fragments of the Twin Towers. You pass the memorial and donor plaques and an undulating field of flowers symbolizing the ripple effect of 9-11. Next is the 9-11 plaque and the wall of remembrance, It is glass panels above a field of flowers with al 2,973 victims name. Moving on you come to the Bucks County victims plaque, and the twin fountains and reflecting pool. Across from the pool are 9 red maple trees for the nine lower Makefield victims. There are 42 small lights representing the 42 children from Pennsylvania that lost a parent. their are 18 maples representing the 18 Bucks County victims. Finally their are 58 redbud trees for the 58 victims from Pennsylvania.
