Topaz Mountian is the site where I discovered this new amethyst in 1991. With hundreds being found in some rhyolite walls at under 4mm in depth most are extremely fragile. The rarest ones a packrat lead me too. Were much bigger and harder because they were in his den in a deep rhyolite cavity layered on a pure white shelf.
A friend that was with me and had never been away from his downtown home would be standing outside of the cavity as I would reach in and pull out in front of his eyes – ‘’The most marvelous thing he had ever saw’’
As soon as I told him to put his hands out and together as I turned to place the first cluster plate on them hands. He sort of ‘’panicked in joy’’ and then fell off a cliff behind us and landed twenty feet below ‘’alive & well’’ Then got-up on his feet and yelled’ ‘’YES! I’M ALRIGHT’’ Then we went on a selling spree shortly after and before we new the value and what they would be worth.
Mostly all my artwork and photos where taken by myself and only a few on occasion at mindscape art & frame were taken by Travis Jones with my permission.
