My interest in creativity began when I was just 14. I started by sketching local images and selling them in the local pub, Later, after a break of several years in which I raised my family, I moved, with my then husband, to the Middle East. There we lived a very happy expatriated life for four years and it was there that I again found myself picking up my pencils and pastels. I sold my artwork in the local gallery and also took commissions which resulted in much of my work being scattered across the globe.
More recently I became increasingly interested in a modern approach to art, using photography, combined with technology. My photography and artwork provide a small glimpse into Gail’s World, an alchemy of nature and fantasy, a way to see the world as I do.
When you look at my artwork please bear in mind that the images you see here started out as a photograph and remain a photograph. Sometimes a very simple photograph that is manipulated into the surreal and abstract images you see here. I also enjoy wildlife and nature photography and much of that work is unedited and comes straight out of the camera.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it!
