Away in a Manger by GailD
Clear

At least this is what first sprung to mind when I entered the old church.
St Malachy’s Catholic Church at Gooloogong NSW Australia. The old original church of St Malachy was built in 1880 out of locally cut stone ferried over the Lachlan from the Marsh and Melliday properties. St Malachy’s was a simple gothic church. The beautiful internal timber roof is intact even today, well over 100 years later. The old St Malachy is now a ruin, part of the historic heritage of Gooloogong.

Looks surprisingly clean inside for something left derelict. Well taken and processed Gail. Lovely building.

  • There’s a layer of straw on the floor. Not sure why. Thanks Rosalie.

Very nice picture Gail…what a shame such a beautiful church is now a ruin!

  • It is a shame. It should have been preserved. I guess that takes $’s though.
