Cootamundra’s sequicentenary birthday party was held Saturday. Officially the town turned 150 on Tuesday 9th August. Over 50 floats and numerous local organisations, businesses and sporting groups took part in the street parade. Some of which showcased life as it was 150 years ago. Afterwards a street party was held with live entertainment from the local band , as well as local talented dancers from one of the towns dance studios. A poetry recital was part of the celebrations, street stalls, rides, the handing ‘the keys to the city’ to the Sesquicentenary King and Queen. Of course, no party is not complete without the cutting of the cake.
